At the beginning there is your desired product as sample with drawing. We check whether your product is suitable for the manufacturing process (Roto-Moulding-Process). You will receive a target price offer for the one-time tooling costs (costs of the mould) and the later unit costs. The production process in combination with the material polyethylene (PE) or polypropylene (PP) leads to products with excellent features:
You should provide us with the following information in advance:
After preparation, coordination and approval of your drawing and prepayment of the tooling costs, we start with production of the mould and the first prototypes. After the prototypes have been received and approved, production of the series products can begin. The time from first planning with drawing to first prototypes depends on the complexity and size of the casting mould, as well as the workload of our toolmakers and the available production slots. Roughly, you can count on at least 10-12 weeks for this.

Depending on the complexity of the part, the mould is made of aluminum or steel. Initial samples are first made with the mould. The machine parameters are calibrated and recorded in order to guarantee parts of optimal and consistent quality. For production of existing molds, the equipment / retrofitting with suitable tool carriers for the respective rotary furnace must be carried out in advance. After the melting process, the finished part is removed from the mould and slowly cooled down. Further processing steps (external trimming etc.) are carried out. After approval of the sampled parts, your desired product / custom made plastic tank can be mass-produced.
Exclusive sale: You bear the cost of the molding tool and we guarantee that the molded parts will be sold exclusively to you. The tool costs are always to be paid in advance, i.e. before the tool is produced.
Participation of the tooling costs: If necessary, we can participate in the tooling costs in order to make the purchase investment in the required tool more attractive for you. This applies in particular custom-made water tanks which we can potentially include into our standard range of tanks and sell to other customers. In this case, we reserve the right to sell the tank (possibly with slight modifications also via our webshop).
The maximum dimensions of the product or a custom made plastic tank correspond to the size of the melting chamber or the melting furnace in which it is melted at comparatively low temperatures. A tank with about 5,500L is currently the maximum. Products with a maximum length and width of 2 meters and a height of 2.20 meters are possible. Not only the size, but also the complexity of the design must be taken into account when producing the process-related production form. The mould usually consists out of two seperate parts. In the case of containers, a shaped upper part can be combined with several precisely fitting shaped lower parts, for example. In this way, several heights can be achieved for one product type. For smaller series this can be a correspondingly economical solution.
We attach great importance to flexibility, however, at least 10 parts should always be manufactured in one slot / with one mould, otherwise it is not possible to convert the tool carriers. Higher quantities can be designed flexibly, of course we prioritize orders with larger quantities of 50-100 pieces accordingly. Please note, however, that quantities of ca. 1,000 pieces are usually not moulded in one production slot.
In special cases it may make sense to adapt one of our standard containers in order to save the initial investment in your own mould. The minimum order quantity is 10-15 pieces depending on the size/type of the standard tank. In principle, the following adjustments can also be made without reworking the mold:
For further adjustments, a major reworking or redesign of the existing mold is always necessary, which must be considered individually.
The rotational mnoulding process produces hollow bodies and is ideal for series of small and medium quantities. The products are impact-resistant and shock-tolerant and, thanks to the pressure-free production, are almost free of tension. Medium density polyethylene (PE-MD) is the raw material we mostly use for this. It is resistant to most chemicals, food safe and recyclable. The raw material PE or PP is poured into a certain shape in powder form. We offer raw material PE in various RAL colors. In the design of the color natural-semi-transparent (optically white) we get semi-transparent containers, this enables the level to be determined from the outside in industrial applications. Containers made of PE in black, RAL 9017, offer light-sensitive media reliable UV protection. The production process includes precisely measured quantities of raw material for each product type. This determines the wall thickness of the final product. With this whiteness, the wall thickness can be designed flexibly on request or increased in a targeted manner if there are special requirements. The surfaces of the products correspond to the respective design specifications and are mostly smooth. The inner surfaces are always very smooth and closed and do not show any degree of the parting surfaces of the form. This seamless property supports the quick and residue-free dishonoring of the container, especially with conical container types.
Since a casting mold made of aluminum or steel has to be made for the rotary melting process in order to then shape the parts in a second step, the production of a single motorhome tank made to measure or a water tank made to measure is unfortunately not possible or profitable. We therefore ask you to refrain from corresponding private customer inquiries for made-to-measure motorhome water tanks. Nevertheless, we are convinced that you can use one of our standard tanks for most applications, as long as there is still some flexibility with regard to the external dimensions. Additionally required connections or tank screw connections with tank feedthroughs for e.g. inlet, overflow, venting, connection, connection to a pump etc. can be made independently and easily in self-installation on the flat points of our semi-transparent and color-configurable water tanks. This means that a water tank from our standard range can also be customized for your application.
