  • I need a tank with individual desired dimensions, is that possible?

Due to the complex production process of our plastic tanks (rotational moulding process in special manufactured steel/aluminium moulds), it is unfortunately not possible to manufacture an individual tank with your desired dimensions. Due to cost reasons and the corresponding effort/expenses of making the mould, this is only profitable for larger quantities.

  • Are the tanks resistant to UV radiation or suitable for outdoor use?

Our Plastic Tanks are UV-resistant and also designed for outdoor use. For large-volume tanks from 5.000L on, a safe stand, e. g. on a reinforced concrete slab, is recommended.

  • Can liquids other than water also be stored in the tanks?

Of course, other liquids and chemicals can also be stored in the tanks. You can see the resistance of various materials in the resistance list on the product pages of the tanks. For chemicals, acids and alkalis, please note the respective concentration of the fluid.

  • For which water temperatures are the tanks suitable?

The plastic tanks are designed for the permanent use of water temperatures from 0-60°C. The tanks can also withstand temperatures of up to 70°C for short periods of time. The water in the tank should not freeze, as it will then expand and damage the plastic tank.

  • Are the tanks suitable for drinking water?

Yes, our tanks are suitable for drinking water. The semi-transparent/natural watertanks are certified according to WRAS (Water Regulations Advisory Scheme - UK). The blue PE-Tanks are certified as food-safe according to Regulation (EC) 1935/2004.

  • What are the declared exact tank dimensions (with/without lid)?

In most cases the indicated dimensions refer to the pure container size, the height of the lid is not considered here. The exact dimensions, e. g. height including lid, width of the notches or distances of the baffles etc. can be found on the respective product page of the technical drawing of the tank.

  • Why do some tanks have baffles?

Baffles are mainly installed on our medium to large-volume, semi-transparent plastic tanks. These prevent the water in the tank from sloshing during movement and portable use. In addition, the permanently installed baffles give the container rigidity and thus contribute to an optimised stability.

  • Are the plastic tanks suitable for installation in my caravan?

Of course, the plastic tanks are also used in vehicle construction and building into caravans. Especially our narrow or flat semi-transparent plastic tanks are suited for installation in a vehicle, depending on the space available and the intended use. The possibility for further connections for inlets, outlets or overflows as well as venting - through PVC accessories or through additional HDPE fusion sockets (welding sleeves) - offers a great advantage and is highly appreciated by our customers.

  • Are there frames for the tanks for installation or how can I fasten them securely?

As we offer many different plastic tanks and the corresponding frame should not be adjusted to the individual tank but to the individual installation conditions, we generally do not offer frames. We recommend an individual formwork with e. g. L-profiles. Furthermore, the existing notches can be used for fastening with tension straps. It is not recommended to fix the tank completely through the baffles, as this is the “least stable” point on the tank.

  • How can I connect two or more plastic tanks?

We recommend using the existing brass connection for the connection because it is installed at the lowest possible point of the tank. Depending on the available space, portable use of the tank a “flexible" connection has proven its worth. This can be easily installed using hose nozzles and a connecting piece of hose. For safety/space reasons, it often makes sense to guide the connection along the tank wall with an angle of 90 degrees. Especially in portable use a flexible connection better resits occurring vibrations, and thus prevents possible damage/breaking of connections.

  • For what and when do I need ventilation?

Ventilation is recommended to ensure air exchange during filling and emptying of the tank. If there is not enough air exchange, over- or under-pressure can form and damage the tank. A vent can be installed independently at the desired location with our Tank Connection Sets (or Vents) in different sizes. We recommend to lead a piece of hose upwards and to fasten it securely.

  • Can I use the tank as a pressure tank?

Our plastic tanks are not designed as pressure tanks. The tanks are dimensionally stable up to at least 0.8 bar. The containers should not be permanently under higher pressure to prevent deformation and excessive stress on the material.

  • Do the tanks deform when filled completely?

In contrast to steel tanks, a slight expansion/deformation cannot be ruled out completely; however, it is absolutely harmless and will not lead to permanent deformation. The baffles and the wall thickness of 6 mm or 8 mm counteract this, and the tank will stay in its shape. An expansion can be lowered by chasing/shuttering at installation.

  • How can I stick something to the tank so that it lasts durable?

The Watertanks are made of PE-MD, the PE-Tanks are from LLD-PE or LHD-PE. Due to its density, it is very difficult to combine it with other materials. For bonding please pay attention to the compatibility with PE. You will find the appropriate products for gluing in specialist shops.

  • Are the tanks suitable and usable for fuel (diesel/petrol)?

The plastic tanks are not suitable for use with petrol. Diesel, on the other hand, can be stored without any problems. If you wish to use the tanks for storing diesel, please inform us accordingly so that we can attach diesel-resistant rubber rings to the tank lids. Please inquire about the general legal regulations and insurance aspects of diesel storage on your private property.

  • Is it possible to install the tanks upside down?

The lid is suited to be on the topside of the tank. Using it upside down will cause the tank to leak fluid.
